6 Reasons Never To Miss Wilderness Festival (Ever Again)!

It’s the festival that is rewiring our perception of four day weekend revelry, and setting the tone for any attempt at Wanderlust this country may ever see. Set in the glorious grounds of Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire (complete with lake and rolling green hills), Wilderness Festival is the ultimate in rejuvenating festivals – and one that you wellness buffs will love.

Here are 5 reasons to mark your calendar, subscribe for early bird rates, and never (ever) miss Wilderness Festival again.

Wild Runs

Yes, you ought to pack your trainers for Wilderness – since as soon as you set eyes on the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside, you’re going to want to be amongst it. If you’re not learning the art of 5 rhythms in the forest, then you’ll be trotting through the hills with other over-enthusiastic festival goers who’ve clearly been there and done this before! Wilderness is the kind of weekend break that you’ll leave feeling totally rejuvenated, and 3km ‘Wild Runs’ are definitely going to be part and parcel to that.

The Sanctuary

It’s a solo wellness festival in the making and where you’ll be spending 50% of your time – it is of course, The Sanctuary. The brainchild of Claire Hamilton and Colette Crespin, The Sanctuary pays homage to the art of wellbeing in every way possible. From the 44ft Yoga Hurt to Meditation Pods and Workshops, it’s a place to recharge and zen-ify yourself when festival overwhelm kicks in. Grab a massage, a hot solar shower (no less) and enjoy inspiring sessions with some of the UK’s favourite wellness gurus.

Superfood Workshops

Designed to energise your mind and body – it’s a festival where superfoods rule. Gathering with like-minded health and wellness enthusiasts is the most incredible way to learn and celebrate the finer things in life, like maca, cacao and coconut oil.

Real Festival Food

Finally, a festival that satisfies the superfood loving taste buds of health conscious people – and with overwhelming variety. With multiple coconut merchants on hand and superfood smoothies to boot, come supper – we were hard pressed to choose between vegetarian sushi and buddha bowls. Picture agreeing on the Pukka tea tent as a rendezvous point for friends and warming your hands on a sugar-free coconut milk hot chocolate before bed (err, air mattress rather). Real festival food – that’s what we’re talking about.

Yoga Daily

Standard practice for Wilderness-goers. In a yurt, on a field, by the lake… we’re talking picturesque, get-of-bed-at-6am worthy yoga classes from some of the UK’s best instructors. Given that you’ll be fueling yourself on real festival food, there’s no chance you’ll be missing the 8am session you signed up for in The Sanctuary!

Mainstream Mindfulness

You’re the rule, not the exception, as far as meditation-enthusiasts go! We’ve never heard so many people talking about mindfulness like it’s as normal as eating breakfast. And as far as ‘being in the moment’ goes, Wilderness cultivates a real sense of presence and we can guarantee that come Sunday you’re definitely not going to want to leave.
