Why Abigail James Says Chemicals Are Out And Natural Beauty Is In

With over a decade of experience in skincare and a 360 degree approach; which incorporates nature, wellbeing, science and advanced technology, Abigail James is well versed in beauty trends. So when she says that chemicals are out, and natural beauty in, we’re overhauling our beauty cabinet – with bin bag in hand.

Natural beauty, says London’s leading skincare guru, is a sector within the beauty industry that continues to grow year on year as we continue to discover the damaging impacts of chemical-based products.

“The trend is being driven by people spending money on products that are not going to be detrimental to their skin and health, but who also want to get a result from their investment,” she explains.

The Global Treatment Ambassador for multi-award winning skincare brand, Liz Earle, has gained enormous respect for her holistic approach to beauty, which says that it matters just as much what you put in your body as what you put on it.

More and more organic and botanical products are popping up, steering the health conscious away from the nasty and often unpronounceable ingredients found in many high-end cosmetic ranges. Abigail says, it’s worth spending more on quality, trustworthy products which (yes, even without all the chemicals) really work.

“Skincare is not cheap and everyone wants to feel, and hopefully see, they are getting something for what they are paying for,” she says.

In terms of natural beauty trends for 2015, Abigail says there is a move away (just slightly), from the purity of certified organic and more towards botanically active which, she says, “results in using the power of plants in a slightly more results-achieving way.”

“There are also so many more active plants and scientific advances available with these which will make a visible improvement on the skin. Research and development moves this industry sector on so quickly it’s so exciting and also a little crazy!”
