Barry’s Bootcamp Kickstarts U.S. Expansion With San Francisco Studio

Barry’s Bootcamp has opened its largest studio on America’s West Coast, making it even easier for consumers to road-test ‘the best workout in the world’.

The 6,500 square foot venue, located at the marina in San Francisco comes complete with 24 treadmills and over 28 benches, as well as complimentary towels, a retail section stocking the latest activewear and vanity areas equipped with hair tools and beauty products.

The impressive new venue is the 16th Barry’s Bootcamp to open in the U.S since the brand began in 1998, with further outposts opening in both the UK and Norway.

With its 25-foot-high open ceilings, the studio adheres perfectly to the fitness giant’s tried and tested formula, including the brand’s popular in-house Fuel Bar, plenty of seating and free WiFi, all of which help to encourage the fun community vibe so synonymous with the brand.

Speaking to Racked, owner Adam Shane said of the new studio:

“I want it to be like a social club. Barry’s is already a social environment, but, especially in the Marina, we want to create a place where you can hang. My vision is on a Saturday morning, you have 55 to 60 people waiting to go into class, and 55 to 60 people in class. All these people are hanging out and being part of the community.”

The high intensity cardio and strength training workouts, popular with fitness fanatics and celebrities across the globe, will be on offer 365 days per year, catering for up to 60 participants.

Barry’s will follow the Marina opening with additional expansion across the Bay Area with additional locations planned for the city of San Francisco, Marin County, the Peninsula and East Bay over the next few years.

As for global expansion, international markets where the boutique fitness model has exploded are eager to see whether the franchise will make its way to their shores.
