Barry’s East Is Officially Open For Business In Finsbury Square!

Master trainers Sandy Macaskill and Anya Lahiri unleashed months of pent up fury on the press this morning for the first official bootcamp at Barry’s East. The international fitness phenomenon – a Hollywood, and now London favourite – has been dubbed ‘the best workout’ in the world. Now, it’s eagerly awaited second UK studio is officially open for business.

The brainchild of American body sculpter, Barry Jay, who opened the first Barry’s Bootcamp studio in West Hollywood in 1998 – the workout is designed to accomplish everything your body needs in just one hour. Now a world-famous workout, frequented by everyone from Victoria and David Beckham to Jessica Alba, London’s sole Euston studio has been maxing out classes for months. Which makes the opening of the new Finsbury Square location, absolutely necessary.

“People have been asking us to open another studio for ages,” says Sandy, who is also a co-owner of Barry’s London. Given the speed at which London’s boutique fitness scene is developing, it’s a tough market for engaging return customers – but Barry’s blows everything else out of the water, with punters travelling across London and classes selling out weeks in advance.

“With our Central classes at capacity, we’re so pleased that everyone can finally experience The Best Workout In The World!” Though we’re sure it won’t be long until Barry’s East is maxing out as well.

A stone’s throw from Old Street station, occupying two floors of the iconic new Alphabeta building – Barry’s East is accessible from Shoreditch and Liverpool Street as well.

“Barry’s typically attracts a dynamic mix of personalities and for that reason the location between Shoreditch and the City, with its residential catchment and broad range of businesses, is ideal,” adds Sandy.

Accommodating classes up 50, the new studio features state of the art treadmills, specially modified for Barry’s. You can expect the trademark red lighting, night-club grade sound system and all the mod cons we’ve come to expect from boutique fitness studio changing rooms. Plus, the Fuel Bar will be blending made-to-order protein shakes for post-workout recovery.

With 25-30 minutes of heart-pounding interval cardio treadmill running, combined with 25-30 minutes of strength training… the innovative Barry’s technique is designed to ‘shock’ the body in the most efficient way to help shift weight, improve cardiovascular health and build muscle. It means burning up to 1,000 calories in an hour – and the trainers will push you to your limits.

Haven’t lost your Barry’s Bootcamp virginity yet? Go on, move outside your comfort zone. Head East… the euphoria awaits.

Class prices range from £14-£20 (depending on class packages – which can be used at both studios).
