In her typically humble and gracious manner, British healthy food blogging icon Ella Woodward, gave heartfelt praise and thanks to her team, her publishers and her mum (radiantly present) as this morning’s official launch of her first self-titled cookbook.
Having been forced to delay the release date in order to fulfil the huge number of pre-orders, we can fairly safely say that Ella’s debut book is the first huge cookbook event of 2015. “My book is number one on the whole of Amazon,” Ella told 270,000 Instagram followers this week, “I honestly can’t believe it”.
The book follows Ella’s immensely popular blog of the same name, where she has introduced countless people to the wonders of simple, whole foods, and dairy- egg- and meat-free cooking. She came to this way of eating after a diagnosis of Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, and her path to managing the condition through diet is as inspirational as the food is tasty.
“Deliciously Ella is not about being hungry or deprived. It’s about counting goodness not calories. It’s about nourishing your body with real, whole foods so that you are consistently happy and energised, and can live life to the fullest…” says Ella, in the opening page of her new book.
Expect a comprehensive introduction from Ella on ‘how to get started’, including pantry staples and kitchen essentials, as a precursor to the mouth watering recipe section. From Easy Avocado Chocolate Mousse to Cauliflower and Potato Curry, there are some old favourites featured, and plenty of new delights from Ella’s kitchen – all accompanied by beautiful imagery and testimonials from those who have been touched by Ella’s work.
Ella’s publishers, Yellow Kite (an imprint of Hodder), also announced today that they will also be publishing Yoga Girl, a memoir and lifestyle guide from yoga instructor and Instagram star Rachel Brathen AKA Yoga Girl; famous for coining #yogaeverydamnday. The book is due for release in the UK this June.
Deliciously Ella’s cookbook is still available for pre-order on Amazon and will be officially released on 29th January.
