WHOOP wins unicorn status 

Human performance company WHOOP has closed a $100m Series E financing round at a $1.2bn valuation led by IVP. 

This new round of investment follows a period of high growth for the startup, which offers users a monthly subscription for 24/7 health monitoring across sleep, recovery, strain, and more. According to the brand, it plans to use the capital to invest in product and software development, global expansion, and membership services.

Mindlabs completes £1.4m pre-seed round for ‘Peloton of mental health’

London-based startup MindLabs has completed a £1.4m pre-seed investment round led by Passion Capital, with participation from SeedCamp.

The company, which plans to launch its platform next year, has created a mobile app that combines live videos from mental health professionals who lead meditation and mindfulness sessions, with features to help users track their stress levels. The full platform will also include an EEG headband, called “Halo,” that measures signals, like heart and respiration rates, that can help show users how effective their sessions are.

Eco deodorant WILD nets £2m cash injection

Wild Cosmetics, a design-led personal care startup selling refillable plastic-free deodorant, has raised £2m in seed funding as it sets its sights on cleaning up the bathroom’s contribution to landfill.

The round led by JamJar Investments will enable the brand to double down on growth, expand product range, drive international expansion and continue to invest in team and tech.

Sidekick Health secures $20m for gamified digital therapeutics

Sidekick Health has raised $20m in a Series A funding round led by Wellington Partners and Asabys Partners.

The company, which has created a gamified digital care platform to help individuals with chronic and via digital nudges from cartoon helpers, says the funding will be used to grow operations in Europe and the US, Sidekick said in a statement.

Strydal, an online platform for yoga instructors raises €800k

Strydal, a digital platform for yoga and fitness creators to produce online classes, has raised €800K in pre-seed funding from a group of angel investors.

The startup, which says it is is a “Shopify for fitness”, aims to simplify all aspects of teaching online, by integrating live-classes, on-demand content, client communication and billing in one easy-to-use platform.

Vidafuel closes $1.75m funding round

Vidafuel, a company developing next-generation clinical nutrition products for use at-home and in the healthcare setting, has closed an oversubscribed $175m funding round led by True Wealth Ventures.

Developed by dietitians using the latest nutritional research and food science technologies, its products provide critical dietary support for a variety of conditions to increase strength, mobility and immune response. Proceeds from the round will be used to hire additional support team members to serve Vidafuel’s growing customer base, expedite a transition to a more sustainable supply chain and expand marketing and advertising initiatives.
