Come Run With Us: Europe’s First Women’s Only Nike Store Opens In Chelsea

The first dedicated women’s only Nike store in Europe has opened on the King’s Road, the fourth in the world, revealing a broader strategy at Nike to hone in on the rapidly growing industry for women’s fitness fashion. And we’re loving it.

CPRESS were on hand last Saturday for the official opening day, handing out cold pressed juice and energy balls to excited shoppers. According to the The Evening Standard, womenswear sales account for around a fifth of Nike’s revenues – but are the fastest growing area of the business.

It will be a new fitness hub for the South West, with free weekly Nike+ Training Club classes and a Nike+ Run Club (to compete with lululemon across the road). You can now book your spot on the digital community wall in store – or access the club schedule at www.nike.com/London.

“The store offers the best Nike performance products and services and is designed to inspire the women of London to reach their athletic potential,” said the brand in a news release announcing the opening.

“Our new King’s Road store is yet another example of our commitment to women to bring them the very best of Nike,” said Heidi O’Neill, VP & GM Nike Stores.

“Our women’s business has never been stronger and our deep connections with women at retail are helping fuel this growth,” she adds – referring to new bespoke services on offer in store such as pant hemming, gait analysis and bra fitting.

The sportswear giant continues to push boundaries in the UK market, and particularly London with the launch of @nikelondon on Instagram and the sell out ‘We Run London’ women’s 10k event on June 21st.

Expect 207 square feet of female friendly space, including the full range of women’s running, training, clothing and footwear products. Plus, dimmers in the change rooms to simulate morning, afternoon and evening. Essential right?
