SEATTLE, United States — Amazon has announced the launch of a new section dedicated to selling Kickstarter products found on Amazon Launchpad, a unique platform that works with innovative startups, to help bring new products to a wider market.
Featuring 300 Kickstarter products available for purchase in the U.S on Amazon.com, items currently on the site include a fitness tracker by Misfit, a smart jump rope by Tangram and an indoor smart herb garden from Click & Grow.
“Working with Kickstarter is a great way for us to hear directly from customers what products they care about, since they truly hold the power to bring these products to life,” explained Jim Adkins, Vice President, Amazon.
“We created the Amazon Launchpad program a year ago to serve creators, inventors, and startups. Our goal is to enable them to reach Amazon’s hundreds of millions of customers and to overcome one of the biggest challenges any startup faces – bringing their product to market successfully.”
Helping independent creators find the resources, courage, and community they need to bring their creative projects to life, Yancey Strickler, CEO and Co-Founder of Kickstarter hopes the launch of Amazon’s Kickstarter Collection will create a new path for innovative projects to be discovered – adding to the invaluable support provided by Amazon Launchpad.
Created a year ago, Amazon Launchpad has already worked with over 100 leading venture capital firms, startup accelerators, and crowdfunding platforms, helping more than 1,000 startups launch products in the U.S., U.K., China, Germany, and France.
It is hoped the Kickstarter Collection will help these products to reach a wider audience, while strengthening Amazon’s commitment to innovation.
