How Home-Cooked ‘Supper’ Is Redefining The UK Takeaway Industry

When your average day consists of a 6am yoga class followed by back-to-back meetings and a lengthy commute home, the typical city dweller is looking for new ways to dodge an evening in the kitchen. Duncan Scott, Founder and CEO of Supper, a new British healthy meal delivery company, identified an opportunity to satisfy the stomachs of a growing number of health conscious consumers.

Supper is a handy and yet equally healthy takeaway that’s not a takeaway. Cleverly combining tech and takeaway (a sector that’s been steadily gaining momentum for some time), Supper is on a mission to redefine home deliveries.

What Is Supper?

The first of its kind, Supper is set to change the way the nation eats by giving its customers access to home-cooked, wholesome food from a team of enthusiastic and passionate chefs. And because all the recipes meet a strict set of criteria for calorie, fat and salt content, there is no compromise for convenience.

Scott explains the decision behind starting Supper: ‘For us, launching Supper was about giving hard working Londoners the opportunity to enjoy a nutritious home cooked meal each night. Everyone has busy lives whether it be work or social and cooking in the kitchen is on the decline, while the reliance on ready-meals and takeaways is on the rise.’

‘It is so important to eat a balanced diet, whether you are looking for a particular outcome from your diet or just want to feel good and healthy when you get up each day. We want people to be able to have access to local, fresh and healthy food with all the convenience of a traditional takeaway,’ he adds.

Meatballs

Offering an unlimited menu every day of the week with a choice of different cuisines, customers can opt for internationally inspired dishes including beef pho, kale, spinach & goats cheese salad with prawns. And aside from the obvious hunger-satisfying benefits, the innovative service acts as a great way of introducing customers to food groups they may have been missing out on. It sure beats meat and two veg.

Rhiannon Lambert, Nutritionist, said: ‘I am seeing so many clients of all ages unsure of how to achieve a healthy balance with food or not knowing where they can eat food that is reasonable and not loaded with rubbish. Supper is great for this and can be whatever you need it to be.’
