What Insights Can You Expect?
With invaluable insights into how to succeed in the multi-billion dollar fitness industry, our first speaker Ed Stanbury, co-founder of boutique fitness brand BLOK will present a powerful keynote exploring how pioneers are ‘Diversifying The Boutique Fitness Model’.
After leaving a career in property development, Stanbury founded BLOK in October 2015 with his two business partners. The brand’s mission of creating a multi-disciplined approach to functional fitness, and core values of fitness meets fashion, art and design have helped it grow from a single studio in London to a three-site operation – the latest of which opened in Manchester earlier this year.
With the launch of its own fitness retreats and several more sites in the pipeline, BLOK is building a global lifestyle brand and carving out a niche for itself in an increasingly competitive market.
Sharing insights into the world of boutique fitness, Stanbury will challenge the thinking of businesses in the fitness sector by exploring topics including launching new verticles, expanding into new markets, operating with a sustainable mindset and creating a destination, not just a gym.
Joining Stanbury, our second keynote speaker Johan Obel, co-founder of CBD retailer The Drug Store will explore ‘The Rise Of CBD’.
As the co-founder of one of the biggest CBD companies in Europe, Obel is a pioneer in the fast-growing and complex CBD sector.
The brand’s London Marylebone flagship store, which launched in 2018, provides consumers with a safe, transparent and legal CBD store, featuring curated products that are sustainable, ethical and best in their category,
Having entered the medicinal cannabis space after seeing both the potential and misinformation within the CBD category, Obel along with his co-founder Clemens Böninger, started lobbying governments and growing in a state-of-the-art facility in Denmark. Today he and his team are changing the CBD industry for the better.
In addition to discussing the importance of legislation, regulation and investment, Obel will explore the impact of product offering, the retail experience and the future challenges and opportunities present in this high-growth category.
Completing our inspiring lineup, Lauren Wilson, Marketing Director at premium health club Third Space will sit alongside Stanbury and Obel for a lively panel discussion expanding on the themes explored during the evening.
Responsible for the brand’s proposition across all services including group exercise, personal training, sports medical and natural fitness food, Wilson plays a key role in driving its innovation and growth.
Prior to joining Third Space, Wilson gained over 12 years of FMCG experience working as a Marketing Director at L’Oreal across LOreal Paris, Garnier and Redken. She also held the position of Marketing Manager at Green & Black’s, working across new product development and UK brand activation.
Led by industry expert and Founder of Welltodo, Lauren Armes, the panelists will explore the key trends driving their respective wellness markets, and shed light on how to navigate them in order to build a brand that’s fit for the future.
