LONDON, United Kingdom — Join our special guest speakers Daniel Sobhani; CEO of Freeletics, Neil Potts; co-founder of The Vurger Co. and Dr. Jason Wersland; founder of Theragun for a special digital, online-only edition of the wellness industry’s leading event: The Welltodo Founder Series – on Tuesday 24th March.

In light of the developing situation with coronavirus, we’ve decided that in order to prioritise the wellbeing of our community, the latest instalment of this acclaimed event series will now take place online only.

This means, in a first for Welltodo, attendees from across the globe will be able to log on and interact with our panelists from the comfort of their own homes, or workplaces.

In keeping with the existing format of the event, founder of Welltodo Lauren Armes will host an insightful online panel examining the various facets of launching and scaling a business in the multi-trillion-dollar wellness sector, in the UK and internationally.

And attendees will hear from our panelists as they explore a range of topics including trends and drivers, growth strategies, new markets and customer engagement, before digging deeper into the opportunities that are driving the future of the $4.5tn wellness industry (GWI).

With practical insights into how to scale a business within these categories, they’ll share the strategies needed to innovate, grow and succeed in this dynamic marketplace.

When Is It?

Taking place online on Tuesday 24th March between 7pm and 8:45pm (GMT), this thought-provoking digital event for innovative brands, startups, influencers and investors in the wellness industry, will be held in partnership with our returning partners international law firm Bird & Bird LLP, the leading provider of cloud-based business management software for the wellness industry MINDBODY, and our brand new partner for 2020, modern accountancy firm GrowFactor.

All attendees need to do to join is follow our unique link, which we’ll send out 24hrs prior to the event.

Who Are The Panelists?

The panel will reveal how they got started, what it took to build their brands, how they have scaled their respective businesses, and what opportunities lie within the fast-growing global wellness industry.

Our first panelist Daniel Sobhani is the CEO of Freeletics — the world’s fastest-growing digital fitness company, with more than 160 employees and 40 million users worldwide.

Having joined the startup in its very early stages in 2014, Sobhani has played an intrinsic role in fostering its potential and guiding the team to achieve international success – all as a bootstrapped company. Within a few short years, not only has he helped grow Freeletics to become the creator of some of the world’s most popular fitness apps, but he has also steered the brand through a $45 million Series A funding round.

With its AI-powered and hyper-personalized digital fitness coaching, Freeletics continues to disrupt a multi-billion-dollar industry which, before the company’s existence, had been dominated by stationary gyms and exclusive personal trainers.

Joining Sobhani, co-founder of The Vurger Co. Neil Potts, set up the plant-based burger brand after debilitating stomach issues led him to discover a whole new wave of plant-based living in California.

With nothing similar available back in London, he spotted an incredible opportunity to create a restaurant concept that made vegetables the main event, in fun, interesting and fresh new ways. And so, in 2016 The Vurger Co. was born.

Having hit its £300,000 crowdfunding goal on Crowdcube in just three days in 2017, the brand’s first site opened in Shoreditch, London in March 2018. A second site in Canary Wharf followed later that year before the brand launched a test range of retail burgers with Planet Organic in 2019.

Now, following a £1.4m investment from private equity Dismatrix Group, it’s about to open its third site in Brighton, as it ramps up expansion to build the fast-food brand of the future.

Completing our incredible lineup, Dr. Jason Wersland founder of Theragun first began his journey in 2007 following a bad injury in a motorcycle accident. Searching for a non-pharmaceutical option to relieve his pain, the chiropractor realised there was a gap in the market, so he set about creating a solution. Over ten years later Theragun’s percussive therapy device is now used by more than 250 professional sports teams worldwide and heralded by celebrities and fitness/health operators alike. The brand has built a presence across six continents and employs sales representatives all over the world.

With a purpose-driven mission, Dr. Wersland’s vision still remains the same –– to keep empowering people, no matter their athletic ability, to take control of their own health.
