London Gears Up For Goodroots Festival, A Unique Event Dedicated To Health & Wellness

LONDON, United Kingdom Shelley Martin-Light, the co-founder of ‘Fare Healthy’ has announced the launch of Goodroots, a unique festival celebrating London’s diverse health and wellness scene.

Taking place on Saturday 11th June at a soon-to-be announced 6000 sq ft venue in Dalston, the festival which Martin-Light says is about making wellness accessible to everyone, will showcase some of the most respected and qualified names in the business, as well as the newest trailblazing foodies and thinkers.

Speaking exclusively to Welltodo about the event, Martin-Light explained:

“I wanted to mix all the good stuff from the wellness world with the party spirit of the street food culture that’s become so popular in London.” Adding, “everything we now know about wellness will be available to discover at the festival. No fads, no diets, just facts.”

With ten years experience organising bespoke weddings, parties and celebrity events, Martin-Light has created healthy, press-acclaimed supper clubs in London for a host of influential wellness figures from Madeleine Shaw and Ella Woodward to Amelia Freer and Hemsley + Hemsley.

Following the sell-out success of the renowned Fare Healthy festival which launched in January 2015 at Paradise in Kensal Rise, Martin Light and co-founder Rose Lloyd-Owen were forced to move the event to a larger location in Borough Market last September.

Attracting over 50 high-profile wellness brands and figures including Deliciously Ella, Skinny Bitch Collective, James Duigan, Lily Simpson, Planet Organic, Cope Active and many more, the event which drew in a crowd of more than 2000 people inspired Martin-Light to create Goodroots.

“Living ‘well’ is affordable, achievable and maintainable for everyone who has the knowledge needed to make informed decisions, whether it’s diet, routine or lifestyle,” Martin-Light explained.

Goodroots festival hopes to provide an accessible, gender-neutral environment in which wellness brands can share their knowledge and attendees can leave with the tools needed to create good habits.

Set to feature a bustling food market with some well-known foodie favourites, as well as plenty of new talent, Goodroots will host a series of lectures and Q&As from leading figures in wellness and mindfulness, but also the new ‘business of wellness’.
