Parsley Health Raises $26M To Revolutionise Health & Wellness Care In The US

LOS ANGELES, United States — Cutting-edge holistic health and wellness provider Parsley Health has secured $26 million to forge ahead with revolutionising health care in the US.

White Star Capital, the global multi-stage technology investment platform, led the Series B round with additional investments from funds including FirstMark Capital, Amplo, Alpha Edison, Trail Mix Ventures, Arkitekt Ventures, and Galaxy Digital.

On the tail of the funding round, Parsley Health opened a new flagship site in Los Angeles. The West Hollywood centre, which aims to redesign the primary care experience through architecture and technology integrates elements of biophilic design, an on-site cafe for members serving chef-curated healthy snacks, and community spaces for events.

“Los Angeles is a national leader in creating healthy living and wellness trends — and these trends need to be rooted in the best available science,” commented Dr. Robin Berzin, Parsley Health founder and CEO.

“Our LA flagship bridges the gap between medicine and wellness — both in the way our doctors practice and the way the space is designed — so we’re able to give the community the healthcare they want with the quality they deserve.”

Founded in 2016 by Dr. Berzin, Parsley Health offers a unique approach to medicine that blends cutting-edge testing, nutrition, and wellness with conventional medicine. Parsley doctors are conventionally trained at top medical schools and universities — but do an additional fellowship focused on nutrition, mental health, sleep, fitness, supplements and advanced diagnostic testing.

A new kind of digital health company offering personalised medical services across telemedicine, diagnostics and in-person care, the company claims to be the first and only vertically integrated digital health solution for reversing chronic disease and optimizing health.

“Parsley Health is the only doctor whose job it is to help you achieve your healthiest life, on top of providing great medical care,” reads the brand’s website.

The cost of an annual membership is $150 per month, which includes five doctors visits (totalling nearly 4-hours of patient/doctor time), five health coach visits and unlimited online messaging with the health team 365 days a year.

However, for those who don’t live near one of its clinics, a newly launched telemedicine membership will allow them to take advantage of the same offerings found at its brick-and-mortar locations — diagnostic testing, unlimited access to a care team, and four hours of 1-on-1 sessions with a doctor — remotely.

Its expansion into the telemedicine category comes at a time when the global telemedical market, is predicted to rise to a value of $130.5 billion by 2025.

According to Dr. Berzin, Parsley Health addresses the need for a new model of care, “one that’s accessible, affordable, proven to address the root causes of chronic disease and – thanks to technology – available from anywhere around the globe.”

And White Star Capital Founder and Managing Partner, Eric Martineau-Fortin agrees.

“Parsley Health’s unique model not only fosters a better, stronger relationship between health practitioners and patients, but addresses the strong demand for Functional Medical services and easier access with their organic tech integration, he commented.

“We continue to be impressed by its fast-growth in the US and its model that enables the company to generate multi-channel revenue from care memberships to e-commerce.”
