Peloton Partners With Westin Hotels & Resorts To Offer In-Room Spinning

BETHESDA, United States — Fitness industry disruptor Peloton is set to become a permanent fixture across select Westin Hotels & Resorts in the US, as part of a first-of-its-kind collaboration.

Offering hotel guests access to the new Peloton commercial-grade bike, both in-room and across select Westin fitness studios, the partnership is the latest example of how the concept of wellness travel is being transformed.

Commenting on the new and powerful proposition, Peloton Founder and CEO John Foley explained:

“Our passionate rider community has voiced their desire to continue the Peloton experience while traveling – and we’ve listened. Through this partnership with Westin Hotels & Resorts, not only can our riders now continue to get the workout they love even while traveling, we can also bring Peloton to a completely new audience who we’re sure will fall in love with the experience, too.”

Peloton’s goal to revolutionise the fitness industry has been building momentum since its launch in 2012. Merging high-design with modern technology, the brand encourages people to get fit at home through a comprehensive and socially connected experience that creates a unique workout.

The $200 million company tripled its revenue from 2015 to 2016, but with competition in the live-streaming category intensifying, expansion into new realms, as well as innovative partnerships such as this, will be a core part of the brand’s proposition.

“You can imagine other fitness categories and other fitness experiences that could be brought to consumers using the technology and the content platform that’s been built here,” Peloton’s President, William Lynch told CNBC.

“If you listen to consumers and let consumers drive your growth and investment decisions, then that’s a good place to start. Then you need to build a team to seize those opportunities, and that’s really the deliberate way we’re thinking about driving growth in terms of sales and the company and employees here,” he added.

For Westin, the collaboration marks the next stage in its commitment to deliver thoughtful wellness experiences that reflect guests’ at-home active lifestyles.

Through the brand’s Six Pillars of Well-Being: Feel Well, Work Well, Move Well, Eat Well, Sleep Well and Play Well, currently guests can experience offerings designed to enhance their sleep, nutrition, and fitness. However, with the introduction of in-room spinning, the hotel group looks set to become a pioneer of what has the potential to be an industry game-changer.
