SHA Wellness Clinic To Launch Private Wellness Residences In Mexico

ALICANTE, Spain — SHA Wellness Clinic, a pioneering medispa first launched in Spain in 2008 is set to debut its first international expansion with the opening of SHA Mexico in 2022.

Building on the success of its original clinic, SHA Mexico Residences will feature 31 private residences, with privileges including permanent access to more than 300 global medical experts, 100 consultations and the clinic’s cutting-edge facilities.

With interest in wellness real estate taking on new value post-COVID, the move is reflective of a wider industry trend in which more developers and operators are prioritising wellness within building design and facilities. A rise in consumer demand for offerings that enable long-term lifestyle changes is also driving the category and was behind SHA’s decision to move into the property market, says the company.

It joins the likes of Serenbe, Amrit, Rancho La Puerta and Aman all of which are investing in wellness-focused residences as a future growth strategy. However, according to SHA, it believes its game-changing move into property will set a benchmark for wellness real estate within the Latin American market due to its size, exclusivity and innovation.

Every detail behind SHA Mexico, which will be located just north of the Riviera Maya, has been curated with wellbeing in mind, according to the company — from its setting,  architecture and design to its use of natural and sustainable materials, as well as its integration of cutting-edge in-house technology. For example, all residences will incorporate state-of-the-art air and water purification systems, as well as home automation based on circadian rhythms.

Beyond integrated wellness systems, owners will also have permanent access to an extensive list of treatments, including water therapies such as watsu, therapeutic and cosmetic treatments, and an array of fitness options, including functional training, Pilates, yoga and meditation.

According to the company, the aim is to provide complete immersion in the SHA lifestyle, balancing permanent access to SHA’s team of globally renowned health experts with the exclusivity of a private home.

With plans to launch SHA Emirates in 2023 — a seaside nature reserve between Dubai and Abu Dhabi — and a longer-term goal to open properties across every continent by 2030, the company is well-positioned to leverage the growth of the market, which is predicted to reach $180bn in value by 2022.
