Series 3. Episode 1:
Let’s talk about the business of wellness…
Afton Co-founded Modern Fertility in 2017 to spark a more open discussion around the challenges and uncertainty associated with fertility. After discovering a love for science and entrepreneurship at school, Afton went on to work for a healthcare-focused private equity company before heading up the consumer tools division at DNA genetic testing brand, 23andMe.
In this episode, we explore the brand’s vision to bring fertility to mainstream wellness, the challenges faced as a disrupter, and the trends influencing the conversation; people choosing to have children later in life, personalised data and inclusivity. We’ll hear how Afton became an expert on the subject of fertility, the brand’s empowering message to females, and how Afton and her co-founder Carly, have been laser-focused from the get-go.
Raising $22 million to date, Modern Fertility is focused on education and empowerment. They produce clinically neutral resources and have ambitions to build out a better predictor of fertility.
