When Is It?

Taking place in London on Tuesday 22nd October, this thought-provoking event for innovative brands, startups, influencers and investors in the wellness industry, will be presented in partnership with international law firm Bird & Bird LLP, the leading provider of cloud-based business management software for the wellness industry MINDBODY, and health and wellness agency Skipper & Skipper.

Who Are The Panelists?

The panel will reveal how they got started, what it took to build their brands, how they have scaled their respective businesses, and what opportunities lie within the fast-growing global wellness industry.

Our first panelist Niki Rein founded Barrecore in 2011, following a successful career as a personal trainer and yoga instructor at premium US studios including Tracy Anderson Method in Los Angeles and Vera Fitness in Washington.

Following an investment of £1.65m in 2016, the business has grown to become one of the largest barre brands in the UK, with 13 studios in prime locations including Chelsea, Mayfair, Notting Hill, Bristol, Alderley Edge and Hale. Its team of over 100 expert instructors, each of whom have undertaken a rigorous 200 hours of training, have helped to propel the brand to success, winning high-profile fans and a growing customer base.

With ambitious expansion plans on the horizon, Rein will share with Founder Series guests her plans to diversify the traditional business model and take Barrecore to the next level.

Joining Rein, entrepreneur Kristina Komlosiova quit a career in events in 2015 to launch healthy food-to-go brand Pollen + Grace alongside co-founder Stephanie Johnson.

Having scaled from a modest lunch delivery service to a nationwide brand, today the company’s products can be found on the shelves of retailers including Whole Foods, WH Smith and Ocado. Its branded products are also stocked in offices such as Google, HSBC and Deloitte.

Following the completion of a £350,000 crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs earlier this year, the brand is now focused on expanding its team, increasing marketing, investing in new product development and delivering more eco-friendly packaging. Komlosiova’s long-term vision is to make “free-from” natural options readily available to all by encouraging supermarkets to move away from the over-processed, under-nutritious world of prepared food.

Completing our inspiring lineup, Jack Tang, Founder of Urban (formerly Urban Massage) an app on a mission to empower people through wellness, has built a network of more than 2,500 wellness professionals offering at-home massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy and beauty treatments. Since its launch in 2014, the platform has enabled the delivery of 300,000+ treatments generating an economic value of more than £25M.

Currently operating in London, Paris, Birmingham and Manchester, the $14.5 million backed business is now aiming to accelerate its goal of becoming a “one-stop-shop” for on-demand wellness services, with new product categories, such as fitness, already in the pipeline.

Tang, a Forbes 30 under 30 honouree, has also hinted at launching in further cities and countries, as well as adding a digital-only component.
