When Is It?
Taking place in London on Tuesday 5th February, this thought-provoking event for innovative brands, startups, influencers and investors in the wellness industry, will be presented in partnership with international law firm Bird & Bird LLP, the leading provider of cloud-based business management software for the wellness industry MINDBODY, and health and wellness agency Skipper & Skipper.
Who Are The Panelists?
The panel will reveal how they got started, what it took to build their brands, how they have scaled their respective businesses, and what opportunities lie within the fast-growing global wellness industry.
Inspired by one of the first two men to summit Mt. Everest, our first panelist Huib van Bockel developed TENZING, the 100% natural, plant-powered sparkling energy drink, to offer a healthier alternative to sugary energy drink competitors.
Having previously worked as the Marketing Director for Red Bull, the entrepreneur boasts vast experience in creating a successful global brand. During his time with the team he led some of Red Bull’s largest projects, and in the UK helped pioneer the set-up of the Red Bull Media House, which launched a magazine and TV channel. In turn, this led to the incredible growth of Red Bull’s digital and social presence.
Following his departure from Red Bull in late 2014, van Bockel decided to set up his own healthy drinks company. Having spent time travelling across Nepal where he discovered the recipe and name for TENZING, in January 2016 he was ready to launch the brand and start production.
Growing by 200% in 2018, the lean start-up has secured partnerships with the likes of Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, EAT, Wasabi, Boots and WHSmiths. With a strong marketing campaign behind the brand and an international mission to change the way people think about energy, TENZING forecasts growth of 400% in 2019, as it expands across Europe and launches in Canada.
Joining Huib van Bockel, Co-Founder of Digme Geoff Bamber quit the hedge fund world in 2016 to launch the fitness venture with his wife. As CEO, he has helped to grow the brand to a five studio operation with outposts in London and Oxford.
An entrepreneur who studied for a business MBA at Stanford University in California, Bamber shares his wife’s passion for all things fitness and has completed 11 Ironman races. He also represented GB at youth level in downhill skiing and was a keen rugby player.
With ambitions to create a business of genuine scale, over the next four years Bamber plans to launch up to 25 studios nationally.
Completing our inspiring lineup, Dervla Louli Musgrave; Founder of Compare Retreats has been recognised as a ‘Global Shaper’ by the World Economic Forum. Working with some of the world’s most influential properties and brands including Net-A-Porter, Quintessentially, Mandarin Hotels, and TUMI, the former digital editor of Hong Kong Tatler and certified yoga teacher, has built Compare Retreats at a time of exponential industry growth.
