Transition Zone Brings High Intensity Fitness To Parsons Green

Train. Eat. Recover. Repeat. That’s exactly what Claire Finlay, Founder and Head Trainer at Transition Zone in Parsons Green, is teaching in her new high-intensity fitness studio.

We met with Claire to find out more about her snappy, four-step philosophy.

As soon as we enter the Transition Zone studio, there is an atmosphere of accomplishment and zest for life. If it isn’t the inspiring quotes printed across the walls of the vibrant, open space; then it’s the passion with which Claire speaks about her unique approach to fitness.

Transition Zone is not a gym. Nor is it a drop-in and out style class. Claire and her team are delivering a holistic solution for a fitter and healthier lifestyle, by combining your workout with a nutritionally inspired recovery menu and massage therapy.

“Transition Zone classes are a dynamic fitness fusion, designed to help you train harder and smarter,” says Claire, who is also an Ambassador for Sweaty Betty. With that in mind, and a twinkle in her eye, Claire gives us a demonstration of what to expect from a typical 30 or 45-minute class.

Sessions are high intensity and incorporate combinations of Power Plate, TRX, Reformer Chair and Barre. Don’t panic if you’re new to any or all of these disciplines; classes are kept small to ensure that everyone receives personal attention. This also means you’ll get pushed to your own limits (yes, that’s a good thing!) and have a whole lot of fun.

“Transition Zone is an environment where people can work out with exceptional instructors, the latest equipment and feel that they’re more than just a number,” Claire tells us. “In fact, it’s more like group Personal Training – without the price tag!”

Depending on the discipline you’ll be training with between 4 and 8 others so there’s no hiding at the back of a crowded class.

Transition Zone is the only studio in London offering classes on the new Pilates Reformer Chair. Aside from being a very cool piece of equipment, the chair stretches and strengthens every muscle group – including the ones you didn’t know you had!

So you’ve finished your workout… but it doesn’t end there. Claire has charged nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert with the “Eat & Recover” component of Transition Zone’s philosophy, which is all about refuelling the body correctly, post-workout. In the Recovery Café you’ll learn what, when and why Superfoods are an essential part of reaching your fitness goals, and that healthy food can taste phenomenally good.

Massage is also an important part of the recovery process, which is why Claire offers a range of therapies under the same roof. Knowing that a deep tissue massage awaits you after class is a pretty good reason to push that little bit harder!

The final element, “Repeat”, is the best part! It means you get to do it all over again and see serious results.

“Train. Eat. Recover. Repeat. underpins everything we do. I don’t believe in cutting corners and nor do my team; we’ll make sure you give everything you’ve got to unlock your body’s true potential from a fitness, nutrition and recovery perspective,” says Claire.

Transition Zone is located at 17 Heathman’s Road,
