UFC Gym Announces Launch Of First UK Sites

LONDON, United Kingdom — UFC Gym is kicking off its UK and Ireland expansion with the first two of its proposed 100 clubs set to launch in April.

The first, a Nottingham outpost, will follow the brand’s classic model, featuring all three of its formats – signature, core and class. It will offer members the choice of functional fitness classes, group and private MMA training, dynamic performance-based training, group classes and MMA youth programming.

A second site in Woking will follow its CLASS UFC Gym format — the brand’s latest concept, which mirrors a boutique-style fitness model. It will focus on a result-based and class centric format, offering HIIT and boxing classes, in addition to a gym floor and high-spec recovery area, including cryotherapy units and physiotherapy facilities.

“Nottingham has always been a hotbed of combat sports, and with the cultural shift towards fitness, health and lifestyle, it makes the arrival of UFC Gym so important,” said former UFC welterweight and UFC Gym UK ambassador Dan Hardy,

“I’m very excited that the first home of UFC Gym in the UK will be in my hometown. I know how welcome a world-class facility like UFC Gym will be, with Nottingham making the most of this amazing resource in fitness and martial arts.”

Since debuting in 2009, UFC Gym has opened more than 150 locations in over 25 countries and territories, including the United States, Australia, Canada, India, Mexico, Taiwan, Vietnam and the UAE. The brand, which is an extension of the world’s largest mixed martial arts organization; The Ultimate Fighting Championship, has scaled using a franchise model. Last year its explosive growth earnt it a spot on Entrepreneur’s annual Franchise 500 List.

More recently, as part of its ambitious global expansion, it announced a partnership with NF FITNESS PTE LTD, Singapore, to open 15 franchise locations throughout the island. The first of which is also due to open this year.

“Our global growth is exciting, and bringing UFC Gym’s ‘Train Different’ philosophy to Singapore is a huge opportunity with an amazing partner,” commented UFC Gym President Adam Sedlack at the time.

“The dynamic spirit and energy in Singapore perfectly aligns with what our members will find in UFC Gym, and we’re proud to continuously grow our brand with this synergy.”

For now, however, following on from its successful launch in the US, the brand is excited to bring its new boutique fitness model to the UK. According to the company, the concept is expected to see large growth across the United States by 2023.
