Scandinavia is a hive of fitness and health bloggers, and very forward thinking when it comes to self-care and wellness. We asked Swedish lifestyle icon, Leila Lindholm (who has an impressive 8 TV shows to her name and multiple best-selling books), for a go-to guide for wellness in Stockholm.

So whether you’re visiting, planning to visit, or relocating to Stockholm, this welltodo Jetsetter guide has your name written all over it.

Tjejmilen | Women’s Fun Run

Tjejmilen is Sweden’s biggest sporting event for women with 34,000 female runners and joggers of all ages. It takes place on a beautiful and easy route around Gärdet and Djurgården. The start is located at Sandhamnsgatan and the finish by Filmhuset at Gärdet. The distance of the route is 10 km. It could be a real challenge if you choose to do the “timed” run. However, there’s always the Fun Run for those who’d like to enjoy a day with their friends while working out.

It is such a wonderful running competition on a lovely route in the middle of Stockholm! I was really proud of myself, and my team from Leila’s General Store, who decided to join me. I’d definitely recommend it – not only do you get fit but it is also a lovely way to see our beautiful city!

Joe & The Juice | Juice Bar

Joe & The Juice is a wonderful place where you can enjoy freshly squeezed juices as well as great coffee and delicious sandwiches. It was founded by Kaspar Basse in 2002 and started off as a destination bar in Copenhagen’s city centre. Today you can find Joe & The Juice in about 70 cities and airport locations across Europe, including one on Dean Street in London.

Living/maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not an easy task. Joe & The Juice though is just so good that you can’t help it but have these juices as often as possible. I love the amazing combination of taste and nutrition that Joe’s juices offer.

Pom och Flora | Café

This is a snug, friendly cafe located in a corner of Bondegatan, which serves one of the city’s best breakfast packages and excellent coffee. I love to go and sit there, take in the beautiful atmosphere and have some freshly made juice, Greek yoghurt with nuts and berries, some herbal tea and some rye bread with eggs.

Salta Kvarns Butik | Organic Health Food Store

Swedes are really health-conscious, which explains the great variety of health shops in Sweden. They offer raw breakfast and raw desserts. Salta Kvarns Butik is also a great little spot – it’s an organic food store and café with Salta Kvarn’s own beautifully packaged products. They have everything there – from flour to dried beans to juices and muesli. “

Sturebadet | Fitness Centre, Gym and Spa

Sturebadet is the place to be if you’d like to focus on your wellbeing in Stockholm. It’s one of the poshest spa and fitness centres and the surroundings are really beautiful. There is a pool, gym and full service beauty treatments available for booking. I think we all need this kind of break from time to time.
