Fruit juice has fallen out of favour with British consumers as fears over the damaging effects of sugar caused volumes to fall 13pc between 2010 and 2015, according to Mintel. The research firm has said that juice volumes will fall by 100m litres to 2.5bn litres by 2020, and smoothie consumption will drop from 1.1m litres to 0.9m.
