7NXT Acquires Meditation App 7Mind

7-Mind

Demand for one-stop wellness continues to rise.

What’s happening: 7NXT, parent company of D2C fitness and nutrition platform Gymondo, acquired meditation and mindfulness app 7Mind.

Scaling up since 2020, Gymondo counts 500K paying subscribers in the DACH region. Adding a layer, Berlin-based 7Mind provides mindfulness and meditation services to ~150K users across consumer and corporate segments.

Global goals. With 7Mind generating “double-digit revenue growth last year”, Markan Karajica, Gymondo’s founder and CEO, envisions building an “international market leader for physical and mental wellbeing”.

“This is a transformational deal for 7NXT and Gymondo, which will help to diversify our business, increasing our B2B customer base while adding valuable mindfulness content for our existing and new customers.”

Body and mind. The wellness economy is expected to hit $8.5T by 2027. With 78% of club users saying the gym alone boosts their mental health, demand for holistic solutions is climbing.

  • In London, MoreYoga added a mental health-focused studio, Gymbox launched mental fitness sessions and Third Space introduced Mind & Body classes.
  • ASICS and Mind campaigned for mental health against performance-obsessed sports culture, and Nike’s Well Collective brought mindfulness and meditation.
  • Gympass added Headspace while Apple Fitness+ upped meditations like sound baths and Peloton introduced walking meditation.

Takeaway: Increased consumer engagement should continue to bestow single-source solutions for mental and physical health. With mental health awareness set to climb hand-in-hand with the crisis, there is an opportunity for operators to fill the gap, particularly with Gen Z, whose mental health is always top of mind.
