David Beckham Co-founds Health Company IM8

Prenetics

David Beckham wants to kick off a health revolution.

What’s happening: The former England footballer and entrepreneur invested in genomics-driven company Prenetics, co-founding health and wellness brand IM8.

Launching later this year, IM8 plans to “revolutionise health” with products developed with guidance from NASA’s former chief scientist Dr James L Green.

While unconfirmed, a strategic partnership with the UAE space agency is expected to play a role, bringing cellular rejuvenation solutions to longevity-seekers.

Hat-trick. While much remains under wraps, IM8 will likely lean on Prenetics’ science-based platform.

  • Insighta, a $200M joint venture with pathologist Dennis Lo specialising in early cancer detection.
  • ACT Genomics, an FDA-approved precision medicine platform providing hospitals and clinics with tailored patient plans.
  • CircleDNA, a DTC test service providing insights for sports performance, nutrition, stress, disease risk, brain health and family planning.

Premier league. Moving beyond biohacking, longevity is a growth-driver in wellness.

  • Australia’s SAINT and Saint Haven mix social wellness and anti-ageing, while Everlab’s clinic draws on clients’ medical records, blood work and imaging.
  • UK-based GlycanAge evolved from biological age testing into early disease detection, and Neko Health’s preventative health clinic hit London.
  • Maximon debuted walk-in longevity clinic AYUN in Zurich, as Switzerland’s Clinique La Prairie plans 50 global locations.

Takeaway: With deep ties to health and fitness, Beckham is jumping on the longevity train at the right time. And as the gracefully ageing face of the business, it’ll have mass appeal on its side.
