GoJoe Lands £2.4M for Gamified Corporate Health App

GoJoe

GoJoe is rethinking old-school step challenges.

What’s happening: The gamified social fitness app secured £2.4M to expand its corporate client base in the UK and North America.

Growing 400% YoY since 2022, the company will use the momentum to further brand partnerships and a DTC offering.

Social fitness. Tracking metrics across exercise, nutrition, recovery and mental health, GoJoe packs holistic well-being for employees into one app.

Leveraging group and solo challenges, points-weighted activity tracking, live maps and leaderboards, high engagement has translated to ~61% of users reporting health improvement.

Of note, GoJoe counts the NHS, EY and Amazon as customers.

Getting Personnel

Battling burnout and stress, employee apathy costs $8.9T globally, pushing brands to adapt.

  • Evolving from gamified nutrition, Lifesum acquired LYKON, integrating at-home labs with its B2B offerings for food, sleep and hormones.
  • Gympass rebranded to Wellhub and expanded holistic services to 36 more markets while partnering with Headspace.
  • EGYM acquired Hussle, expanding the European footprint of its Wellpass offering.
  • Urban Sports Club raised €95M after doubling its B2B business in recent years.

Elsewhere, women’s health platform Daye launched a corporate programme to cater to the needs of female workers.

Takeaway: 96% of employees want wellness-minded employers and corporations want engaged, healthy workers. For GoJoe and others thinking beyond step counts, making health and fitness a shared, social experience is big business.
