Australia’s TotalFusion Debuts Luxe Platinum Club

TotalFusion

TotalFusion opened its first Platinum concept in Newstead, Brisbane.

What’s happening: More than a gym, the new 9K-square-metre club combines fitness, wellness and concierge medicine as the basis of its high-end health hub.

Inside and Out

Already elevating the traditional workout experience across four existing clubs to capitalise on performance and longevity trends, TotalFusion’s Platinum club unifies prevention, optimisation and recovery.

Fitness. A multi-level gym, rock climbing wall and high-altitude training zone cater to everyday athletes while group fitness spans seven studios. Roof bound, a 25-metre magnesium pool satisfies serious and pleasure swimmers.

Wellness. Alongside atmospheric training, TotalFusion members can access dedicated recovery areas from hot (infrared sauna and steam room) to cold (cryotherapy, cold plunge and a snow room) to float, hyperbaric oxygen and red light therapies.

Clinical. Overseen by its own medical board, clients can book physiotherapy or functional medicine consults utilising genetic and lifestyle assessments to improve sleep, stress and more, while its dietitians tailor plans to treat conditions from overweight to brain fog.

Built to scale. TotalFusion founder Leon McNiece is also behind Aussie gym chains Goodlife and Snap Fitness AUS/NZ. Aiming to scale up empires for every lifestyle, he just bought into World Gym Australia’s master franchise, plotting expansion of its new premium brand.

One-Stop Shop

The convergence of fitness, wellness and health is gaining ground worldwide.

  • With MRIs, brain scans, a mineral-infused pool and immersive cycling, Aussie competitor Saint Haven is eyeing global expansion.
  • Steven Bartlett-backed UNTIL, uniting fitness, wellness and health for professionals and consumers, plans speedy growth across the UK and US.
  • US-based health club operator Life Time recently unveiled its first longevity clinic, offering medical, lifestyle and aesthetic interventions, as part of a wider rollout.

Takeaway: As wellness clinics, longevity centres and medical holidays grow in popularity, we will see more venues connecting the dots in one place. While governments seem reluctant to link fitness to preventative health, for a rising number of entrepreneurs, it’s a no-brainer.
